Police Targeting And The "Good Trouble Ride"

  • Thursday, August 6, 2020

I think Marie Mott is confusing targeting with openly breaking the law when she is quoted as saying, "The sheriff brought charges against me and C-Grimey, and the CPD brought charges against me and C-Grimey and several other people. The police have been targeting us because we've been putting pressure on them.  We've been messing with the city's money.”

I can only laugh as these two openly admitted to theft, vandalism and arson and were also on video committing these crimes so I think they made it pretty easy for law enforcement to hold them accountable and make the arrests.

I can also imagine law enforcement would love for all individuals breaking the law to be so forth coming and open about it as it would definitely make their extremely stressful jobs a whole lot easier and would make prosecuting these crimes a breeze.

As for the quote, “We've been messing with the city's money”, the last time I checked the city’s money is our taxpayer money and the police budget was fully funded so I’m not sure whose money or which city she is referencing.

And as for the “Good Trouble Ride” that is scheduled to arrive at 6:30 p.m., all I can do is hope and pray it remains peaceful and civil and that Marie Mott holds herself accountable for the actions of the protest leaders and 500+ guests she has collaborated with to bring into our city.  Because the bottom line isn’t that what we all want as citizens, accountability and peace?
