Millard Austin Madewell
Millard Austin Madewell, age 72, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 in a local hospital.
Mr. Madewell was born in Memphis, Tn. and he was the son of the late Pearlie Emily Anderson Madewell and Austin Millard Madewell.
Mr. Madewell was a brick/stone mason most of his life. In his youth, he was considered a really good athlete. He played baseball and basketball. His passion was Corvettes! He enjoyed working on cars and was rebuilding a Corvette. Active in his community, he served on the board of Agape Family Service Agency. For several years, he was a member of the Raleigh Church of Christ in Memphis where he served as a deacon. At the time of the death, he was a member of the Bartlett Woods Church of Christ in Arlington, Tn.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Marcie Madewell of Cleveland; daughters, Mindy Shelby of Benton, Arkansas, Rebecca Beasley and her husband Vincent of Rossville, Georgia; son, Andrew Jason Madewell and his wife Ximena of Aspen, Colorado; grandchildren, Elem, Ever and Eden Shelby, Wyatt Beasley, Lautaro and Nahuel Madewell; sister, Betty Miller and her husband Michael of Eads, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be held private for the family. Burial will be in Lee Cemetery in McDonald.
