Viola Garth
Viola Elizabeth Garth, 54, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, was born on February 2, 1967, to Iola Johnson and Mose Davis. Viola departed this earthly journey on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at a local hospital.
Viola was loved by so many people. She was a high school basketball player and a graduate of Howard High School, class of 1985. Viola was very much still active in her class events. Viola could surely light up a room and make everybody laugh when she was around.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Brenda Shropshire.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband. Vaughn Garth; daughter, Veleka N. Jordan and son, Derrick Jordan, Jr.; grandchildren, LaDerron S. Freeman, LaDerrius T. Freeman and Syria N. Jordan; sisters, Pauline (Charles) McGraw, Deborah (Johnny) White, Stephanie (Devosta, Sr.) Leverett, and Terri Davis, all of Chattanooga Tn and Annette (Lebron) Hunter, of New York; brothers, Joe Johnson of Chattanooga, Tn., Randall (Mattie) Davis of Chickamauga, GA and Anthony (Jenette) Davis of Boston Massachusetts; her best friend, Lisa Beasley and Ronda Watkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Public viewing will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 29, followed by a 1 p.m. funeral service in the chapel. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
