Robert E. "Bob" Strange, 89, died on Nov. 24, 2021, from injuries received falling from a ladder. He died as he lived - independent and taking care of business.

He was a former Marine, employed at Graybar, Sylvania, and General Electric, completing his career as president of Commercial Cold Storage in Atlanta. He and his wife, Patsy McGuire Strange relocated to their childhood home of Chattanooga after retirement. They enjoyed connecting with past and new friends through City High Alumni events, with Chattanooga Theater and Walden Club outings as well having dear friends and neighbors over the past 22 years. He loved traveling and did so extensively in U.S. and abroad, and was an avid reader, with encyclopedic knowledge of history that he was always willing to share with any and all that were interested.  He was active and independent to the end and will be missed by all who loved him.

He was predecesed by his wife, Patsy McGuire Strange, and survived by his daughters, Valerie Grotewold (Jim), Gail Sterchi (David), Carol Rose (Phil), Donna Northcutt (Kirk), Nancy Williams (Marc), Patty Hoffman (Chip), son Rick Strange, 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, who knew him as Daddy Bob, brother, David Strange and companion Mavis Russell.

Per his wishes, no services are planned.

Arrangements by Wann Funeral & Cremation Center at the foot of historic Lookout Mountain, St. Elmo, 423 821-7551.
