Hamilton County Has No COVID Deaths, 70 New Cases; Tennessee Has 1,355 New Cases, 18 More COVID Deaths

Hamilton County reported 89 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, with 45 patients hospitalized and 11 in Intensive Care Units. Eight others were in the hospital with suspected COVID. Of those hospitalized, 14 are county residents.


The new total of cases in Hamilton County is 41,237.

There have been no new deaths from the virus in the county reported since last Thursday, leaving the total at 463.  

The number of those who have recovered from coronavirus in Hamilton County is 39,985, which is 97 percent, and there are 789 active cases.

The number of coronavirus cases in Tennessee is at 786,597 on Wednesday with 1,355 new cases. There have been 18 more deaths from the virus, for a total of 11,606, state Health Department officials said.

The state currently has 705 people hospitalized from the virus, 16 fewer than Tuesday.

Testing numbers are above 6.923 million across the state. 

The number of people who have recovered from coronavirus in Tennessee is 762,464, 97 percent.

Bradley County:  13,210 cases, up 45; 141 deaths

Grundy County: 1,713 cases, up 2; 30 deaths

Marion County: 2,976 cases, up 3; 45 deaths

Meigs County: 1,276 cases; 23 deaths

Polk County: 1,813 cases, up 6; 23 deaths, up 1

Rhea County: 4,178 cases, up 6; 73 deaths

Sequatchie County: 1,585 cases, up 2; 26 deaths

Knox County: 46,754 cases, up 78; 592 deaths, up 2

Davidson County: 82,614 cases, up 137; 881 deaths

Shelby County: 88,272 cases, up 105; 1,522 deaths, up 3
