Sandra Clay Johnson passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 in a local hospital after an extended illness.

She was born in Oneida, N.Y.  Sandra was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church and had worked as a church secretary for 25 years. She completed business school in Oneida, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Bernice Clay.

Survivors include her  husband, Lanny Johnson; daughter, Michele VanParys of Port St. Lucie, Fl.; son, Michael (Lisa) VanParys of Murfreesboro, Tn.; step-son, Scott (Jennifer) Johnson of Signal Mountain; grandchildren, Lindsey and Will VanParys of Murfreesboro, Tn.; step-grandchildren, Emma, Luke and Faye Johnson of Signal Mountain; brother, Scott Clay of St. Petersburg Beach, Fl.; sister Barbara Goodrich of Mt. Airy, Md.; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Dr. Courtney Krueger officiating. 

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Morrison United Methodist Church PO Box 277, Morrison, Tn. 35357.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, Tn. 37412.
