Barbara Lewis

Barbara Jean Moore Lewis, 77, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022, in a local hospital.

She was born in Huntsville, Madison County, Al., on June 16, 1945. She was the seventh of 11 children born to the union of Tommie and Martha Hereford Moore, where true love abided in this family. She was raised in Huntsville, and received her education in the Madison County School System. She resided in Huntsville, until moving to Chattanooga, with her four children Terri Lynn, Reginald, Jeffery, and Garion. God provided Barbara with strength, love, guidance, and affection in the assistance of rearing several nieces and nephews. She had many hobbies with cooking being her absolute favorite. She often spent majority of her days cooking for her family and friends. It was her way of saying “I love you.”  She enjoyed solving puzzles, playing cards with her special group of friends and spending as much time as possible with her grandkids. Barbara was always the life of the party and always willing to go above and beyond for her family. Barbara was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and aunt to her family and a great friend to others. She was the backbone that kept the family going no matter the circumstances. She provided guidance in many areas of family affairs after the passing of the family’s matriarch. Barbara confessed hope in Our Father and was a true believer in Him.
