Mac Bryan
Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School has hired a familiar name to be the Warrior's next head football coach. Mac Bryan, who previously coached at UTC and at Ooltewah High School will be taking the reins of the Warriors beginning this fall. Bryan recently resigned after serving as head coach for four seasons at Avery County High in North Carolina.
Bryan was an assistant coach under two different head coaches at UTC.
He served as offensive line coach under Donnie Kirkpatrick from 2001-2002 and for one season under Rodney Allison in 2003. He was a co-offensive coordinator at U.T. Martin for two years before becoming head coach at Ooltewah High School in 2013. Bryan served as head coach of the Owls five years, compiling a record of 45-16 with one undefeated regular season.
He moved to Avery County to be closer to his aging mother. However, his two daughters live in Chattanooga and the move to LFO is now a plus because he can now be near his grandchildren. "I have a doctor's appointment next week in Chattanooga. I kept the same doctor and dentist here," said Bryan.
Coach Bryan said he sees a lot of potential in the LFO program. "There is a lot of talent here. This is a good place with strong support. It's tougher when you haven't won in a while, but we'll turn it around."
Bryan replaces Bo Campbell who resigned at the end of the 2021 season.
