No man knows the day nor the hour that the Lord will call. A life taken too soon, his earthly body was exchanged for his spiritual body.

On February 16, 1987, our gracious God blessed Henry and Marilynn Brown with a precious baby boy they named Kevin Anthony Brown. Buddy, as he was affectionately known, confessed his belief in Christ at an early age and was united with Greater Second Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Anthony E. Ray. Kevin spent his formative years at East Ridge High School, graduating in 2006. His love for his family and friends kept him close to home.

Kevin's greatest treasure was the gift of his three darling daughters: Kamari (Erica Tate), Skye, and Jer'miyah (Starrkyshia Braswell). On Sunday, June 5, 2022, God summoned his precious angel home. He bade no farewell, no distraught goodbye, he slept away quietly to his home on high.

Preceding him in death were his devoted great-grandparents, Calvin and Arizona Sims, grandmothers, Ruth Anne Brown and Virgeon Johnson, aunt, Carolyn Johnson, and uncle, Gerald "Sonny" Johnson.

Kevin will forever be alive, loved, and remembered by his three affectionate daughters, Kamari, Skye, and Jer'miyah, his devoted parents, Henry and Marilynn Brown; two loving sisters, LaQuanda (William) Walton, Kandis Brown, both of Atlanta, GA; one big brother, Jamaal Brown of Milwaukee, WI; five aunts, Willie Mac (Rowan) Douglas of Columbus, MS, Johnnie Ruth Hart of New Orleans, LA, Evelyn Frazier of New York, Deborah Tenner of Natchez, MS, and Brenda Johnson of Birmingham, AL.; two uncles, Richard (Renee) Johnson of New Orleans, LA, and Ronald Johnson of Lorman, MS;  nephews, Ken, Kadren, and Reginald; five special friends, Cordarryl Leverett, Josh Ashberry, Randy Johnson, Darrion Smith, and Stoney Chubb; an assemblage of cousins, friends, and other relatives.

Public viewing will be held on Monday, June 13, at Metropolitan Tabernacle Church, 2101 Shepherd Road, beginning at 11 a.m.

A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m.

Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens. The service will be livestreamed on the Facebook page of Metropolitan Tabernacle Church. Please visit https://www.metrotab.net/

Arrangements are by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 423 622-9995.
