Kenneth Steele
On November 27, 2023, Kenneth R. Steele passed peacefully at his home. He was 63 years old.
Ken was born on March 5, 1960 in Chattanooga, TN.
He grew up playing multiple sports and reminisced fondly about the good times he had with his friends and teammates. Ken loved to travel and enjoyed going on multiple mission trips with the Men and Women of Action. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking.
Ken enjoyed helping others, and accomplished this through not only his time working at the police department, but as a counselor and therapist.
He held a Masters in Psychology from Lee University and worked with Volunteer Behavioral Health on their Crisis Team. He was a beloved son, father, brother, nephew, and friend. He will be missed by many.
Ken is survived by his mother, Urline Steele, of Cleveland, Tn.; his daughter, Brittany Mowery (Chris), of Cleveland, Tn.; grandchildren, Mikayla and James Mowery, of Cleveland, Tn.; his brother, Stephen Steele, of Gaffney, Sc.; his favorite uncle, Glynn Burt, of Cleveland, Tn.; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Steele; his aunt, Annette Burt; his uncle, Julian Burt; his cousin, Phillip Burt; and his grandparents, Daniel and Bessie Burt.
The family will receive friends Friday Dec. 1 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel.
