George Wimberley
George Vernon Wimberley, 82, of Chatsworth, GA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2023.
Mr. Wimberley was a selfless soul, a loving father, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him. He was born in Flat Rock Alabama on December 24, 1941 to the late George David & Ella Lou Verdie (Russell) Wimberley.
Mr. Wimberley was retired from Happy Valley Milk Company . He loved getting together with family and especially loved Melissa’s Blue Berry Delight and Brittany’s peas. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Durham, brother, Eskil Wimberley, and step-brother, Willie Wimberley.
Survivors include his sons Anthony (Alisa) Wimberley and David (Tammy) Wimberley; sister, Ann (Roy Lee) Brown; brothers, Lee & Wayne Wimberley; grandchildren, Brittany (Eric) Walraven, C.J. (Josie) Wimberley, Kalie, Breanna, Kristen, Jordan, and Austin Wimberley; nieces, nephews, his neighbor and friend, Rae Goswick; two special ladies whom he called his forever hero’s, Dana Richardson and Tori Hammontree. He will truly be missed.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Robert Goff Officiating. Interment services will follow at a later date at the Beulah Chapel Cemetery in Flat Rock, AL. In lieu of flowers and George’s wish, any memorial tributes can be made in the form of charitable donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 1 at 11 a.m. until the service hour at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.
