Eddie Gene Green age 79, of Apison, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023.

Mr. Green was born in Cleveland, Tn., on December 20, 1943, the son of the late William Burton Green and Bessie Waters Green. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserves. Mr. Green retired from Combustion Engineering as a production planner after many years of service. Mr. Green was a loving and dedicated husband to Gloria for over 40 years, mourning her loss until his own death. Gene was a kind and patient father, reading to Sherri daily, teaching her math and all about cars. He liked antique cars, even bringing his own antique car to shows. He enjoyed his small dogs as companions, leaving behind Obie. In addition to his parents, Mr. Green was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Jean Green.

Survivors include his daughter, Sherri (Gregory) Lindsay; two grandchildren, Emily Grace Lindsay and Nathaniel Lindsay; and two brothers, Jack Green and Burt (Jane) Green.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Plowman Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at Heritage Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer’s Association in honor of his widow, Gloria Smedley Green at www.alz.org or 7625 Hamilton Park Dr # 6, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
