Claude M. Jones, Jr.
Claude M. Jones, Jr., of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
Claude was born on March 9, 1937, in Georgia to the late Claude M. Jones, Sr. and Maude Swanson Jones.
Claude Jones never met a stranger. Many friends and acquaintances remember his work as a Barber at Jones Barber shop in Rossville, Ga., where he worked with his brother, Jimmy Jones, from 1957 to 1971. In addition to his barbering, he worked for JCPenney and North American VanLine for more than 20 years.
He was an avid musician and fantastic guitar player. Claude played with several different bands in the Chattanooga area. He loved and appreciated his musician friends and was always ready for a jam session. He inspired his sons, nephews and niece to love music and learn to play and sing. Jones family gatherings always included music because of him, and he loved to entertain.
Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Claude M. Jones, Sr. and Maude Swanson Jones, brother Michael Jones, son Gary S. Jones, sister Patsy Jones, and great grandson Jackson Mauldin.
He is survived by his son, David Jones (Laurie), daughter-in-law, Anna Jones, brother, Jimmy Jones (Barbara), sister-in-law, Rhonda Jones, grandchildren, Ashley Mauldin (Brian), Christopher Jones, Charles Josh Cole (Laura Jane), great grandchildren, Jones Mauldin, Eliza Cole and Kate Cole, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Joel Jenkins officiating.
Interment will follow in the Rock Spring UMC Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, Ga.
