Tracye Renee Martin, 54, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 in a Cleveland hospital, with a heart and lung complication. She was born in Athens on Oct. 22, 1968. A native of McMinn County, she graduated from McMinn Central High School in 1987. Tracye worked for about 12 years at Cameron’s Resturant in Cleveland and at the TVA Wattsbar restaurant – Etta’s Kitchen for about 10 years. She was a very happy person that went out of her way to help anyone in need. Tracye will be forever missed and remembered by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jimmy “Cotton” Martin and one brother, Robbie Lee Martin.
Tracye leaves behind to cherish her memory, her mother, Etta Peck, of Athens; her forever friend, Tammy Moon, of Cleveland; two brothers, Tim and Edward Martin, of Florida; three sisters, Kim Sperry and Leah Morgan, both of Athens, and Juanita Martin, of Georgia; three god-sons she raised with love, Aaron Miller, Colton and Preston “P.J.” Moon; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous other extended family members; and a host of special friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 29 from 4-7 p.m. in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home at 400 S. White St. in Athens. A service celebrating her life will conclude that visitation time at 7 p.m., with the Reverend Gary King officiating.
