Willie Jo Leigh, of Rock Spring, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023. She was 87.

She was preceded in death by her husband Herb Leigh; son Richard Barton; daughter Sherry Nance; parents William and Velma Brown; sister Irene Barrett; and brothers J.C Brown and James Brown.

Willie Jo was a member of Rock Spring Baptist Church. She retired with Shaw of Dalton after 20 years of service, and later worked 23 years as a cashier for Wal-Mart of LaFayette, until her retirement in November 2022.

She is survived by sons Andy McNeese and Tony McNeese; special granddaughter Mary Jane along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Barbara (Harvel) Neyman; brothers Wayne Brown, Ernest Brown, and Vernon (Pam) Brown; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law Kathy Brown.

The funeral service will be Monday, June 5, at 11 a.m. in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Shane Harris officiating.

Family will welcome friends Sunday, June 4, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Vernon Brown, Danny Wallin, Mark Lozano, Chris Pegg, Bubba Barrett, and Gary Barrett.

Interment will be at Crest Lawn Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tapestry Hospice for their care and support.

Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
