Lucy Graze
Lucy Bell Edwards Graze, 91, of Flintstone, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at her residence.
She was born on May 23, 1932, to Cleophus and Amelia Edwards, Sr. in Selma, Alabama. She confessed Christ at an early age at El Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Graze had a strong relationship with the Lord and loved the word of God. She left Selma, Alabama at an early age and moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was employed by private families for over 50 years. Mother Lucy was a member of Real Life Ministries in St. Elmo. She was the head usher for 20 years and trained all the ushers. She started the Mother Board in 2000 and trained the Mother Board Ministry, causing the ministry to grow. She later started the Pastor’s Aide Committee in 2005. Mother Graze was very active and committed to serving and was compassionate toward church growth and serving God’s people. She has left her legacy among many. Mrs. Graze “Moma” loved cooking Sunday dinner for her family and her special dish was candied yams and collard greens. She loved her family, her church family, her Pastor, Mrs. Nancy, her grandchildren, her employer, and her employer’s children. They all had a very special place in her heart.
Mrs. Graze was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Alonzo Graze; parents, Cleophus and Amelia Edwards, Sr.; brothers, Cleophus Edwards, Jr., Woodrow Edwards, and Morrison Edwards; sisters, Mary Edwards Sigwart, Ernestine Edwards Burns, Elizabeth Edwards Rainey, and Eugenia Edwards Watson; and son, Henry Lee Moore.
Mrs. Graze leaves to cherish her memories and love to her daughters, Sandra Stallion of Denison, TX, Gloria Hammonds of Louisville, KY, Joyce Moore of Cincinnati, OH, Carlos (Charles) Bills of Nashville, TN, and Lauren “Feebie” Stallion of Flintstone, GA; son, Willie (Annette) Stallion of Chattanooga; 14 grandchildren; an abundance of great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria Edwards of Bronx, NY; daughter-in-law, Patricia Moore of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Thelma Ballanger of Chattanooga; Kenneth and Rachel Arnold who where like her children; additional family, the Robinsons, Scouts, Webbs, and Fergusons; special friend, Evelina Spencer of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Graze will lie in state on Saturday, June 17, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at noon in the chapel with Pastor Shauna Wooten as the eulogist.
Burial will be on Tuesday, June 20, at 11 a.m. in Forest Hills Cemetery.
