Dorothy Earnshaw, born February 22, 1924 in Mount Vernon, Il., passed away to heaven on November 29, 2024.

She met George Earnshaw while in the Navy during World War II. They married on August 10, 1946. She had seven children, Linda Peterson (Kent), Ken Earnshaw (Ruth), Jane Garner, Jean Earnshaw, Phyllis McElhiney, Jenny Gray (Gary), Judy Christian (Tim); eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Gale and Donald Pasley, a daughter, Linda Peterson and husband, George Earnshaw.

She loved Jesus and sparkled with God’s love. She wanted to make sure everyone she met knew Jesus as their savior. She would say things like, “God is Good,” “Do you know Jesus as your Savior?” and “I’m Praying for you.”

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road.

The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, at Stanley Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Brent Baughman officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
