Gust Rudnik, Jr., 96, of Hixson passed away on February 28, 2024.

Gust was born in Charles, Pa., on Dec. 19, 1927, to the late Gust Rudnik, Sr., and Katherine Koontz Rudnik. He served during World War II in the United States Army and was a Pvt. First Class in the 3rd Battalion 188th Parachute Infantry 11th Airborne Division. After the war in 1954 he moved to Tennessee and began working for TVA. He spent the rest of his working years at TVA and retired as the Fuel Section supervisor. Gust’s favorite pastime was spent fishing and spending time outdoors.

He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Ann Sterrett Rudnik, his aforementioned parents, brothers, Wilbert; Harry; Edward; and Richard Rudnik, Sr., sisters Evelyn Gesche and Edith Wilson.

Left behind to cherish Gust’s memory are his son, Brad Rudnik and a sister, Helen Rudnik.

He will be laid to rest in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Per his wishes there will be no formal services.
