Albert Larry Kinamore, Jr. was born to Albert and Hazel Riley Kinamore in Chattanooga, (Park City) Tn., on July 19, 1945. He attended the Chattanooga Public Schools and graduated with the Howard Class of 1963. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and deployed to Vietnam. Additionally, he joined the Army Reserves and was deployed to the Gulf War serving in Operations Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. He retired from the military in 2004.

He was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, his only wife, Yvonne Barber Kinamore. They were married for 52 dedicated years. To this union, one loving daughter, Dorinda Rachelle, was born.

On Jan. 1, 1974, he was hired by the Chattanooga Fire Department as a Firefighter. On July 17, 1979, he received a letter of commendation from Chief Knowles. He retired from the Fire Department on March 22, 1992.

Larry was a faithful and dedicated member of Union Hill Baptist Church for over 15 years where he served in the Trustee and Kitchen Ministries. He faithfully served in various capacities as needed. In 2023, he and his wife joined Hawkinsville Baptist Church.

Larry's character was that of a "quiet storm" and he demonstrated strength, courage, and fortitude. Larry was the epitome of working and providing for his family and serving others. Larry’s upkeep of his lawn was kept in pristine condition. According to his family and neighbors, he loved showing off his tireless work of planting nature done by his hands. He never showed weakness. On April 3, 2024, with his wife and daughter by his side, he peacefully passed away. He is now absent from the body and present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:3).

He was preceded in death by his parents: Albert and Hazel Kinamore; sisters: Twilight Kinamore and Jacqueline Asberry; and brother: Harold Dudley. He leaves to mourn and celebrate his memories; his loving and devoted wife: Yvonne Kinamore; his dedicated daughter: Dorinda Rachelle (Stacy) Little, Tyrone, Ga.; grandchildren, Courtney Little and Jonathan Little; sons: Alanda and Daren Kinamore; brother: Kevelin (Vickie) Kinamore; sister: Darrene Watson; mother-in-law: Rosie L. McCuthison; brothers-in-law: Cecil W. (Linda) Barber, Joshuah L. (Valerie) Barber, Gerry L. (Linda) McCuthison; sisters-in-law: Sylvia Ann Barber, Patricia (Wesley) Greer and Vickie McPherson; grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Public viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, at the funeral home.

An 11:30 a.m. funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 17, at Hawkinsville Baptist Church, 7463 Pinewood Drive, Chattanooga.

Interment will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Gate time is at 2 p.m.
