Albert Thurman Byrd
Albert Thurman Byrd, 86, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at his residence.
He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.
Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lee Byrd; father, Albert Byrd; sons, Carroll (Marian) Byrd, Kenneth Byrd, and Albert Thurman Byrd Jr.; brothers, Kelly Byrd, Fredrick Byrd, and Milton Byrd.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Wilma Elaine Byrd; sons, Alonzo (Janice) Byrd, Marcus (Angle) Byrd, Greg (Marva) Dial, and Derrick Byrd; daughters, Paula (Ronnie) Walker, Annietta (Kenneth) Billups, Sheila Cameron, Teresa Reed, and Dewanda Taylor; brothers, Sherman Byrd, and Charles Beard; sister, Alice (Richard) Goines, all of Chattanooga; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as other relatives and friends.
Mr. Byrd will lie in state on Friday, April 19, from 9 a.m.-noon at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at noon in the chapel with Chaplain Roger Woods as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
