Traci Hawkins Piovesan, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, left this world on May 10, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 58.

Traci is survived by her parents, Mickey and Dee Hawkins; two sons, Alexander Piovesan and Hayden Piovesan; brothers, Travis Hawkins and Alex Hawkins; sister, Allison Driver; two sisters-in-law, Jessica (Shell) Hawkins and Karin (Dahlinger) Hawkins; nieces, Drew Hawkins, Anna Hawkins, Willa Hawkins and Simone Hawkins; nephew, Charlie Driver, She is also survived by her devoted partner, Jay Johnston. She also had many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins in Chattanooga.

A devoted mother, friend and world traveler, Traci lived and loved big. She cherished every minute she spent with friends and family. She had many, many beloved, lifelong friends. She was just fun to be around. She was an accomplished artist and painter. She graduated from Central High School in 1983. She was a homecoming queen at Baylor School the same year. Traci acted in many Baylor School drama productions and played the lead in "Our Town" when she was a 17-year-old high school senior.

Traci attended the University of Tennessee. In the late 80s, she appeared in the Discovery Channel's series "Shark Week," scuba diving with sharks in the Galapagos Islands. She moved to Atlanta in the 90s and spent the next two decades living there raising her two sons, Alexander and Hayden

Apropos to Traci's life, Thornton Wilder's play "Our Town" had her character deliver the following lines: "Oh, earth, you're too wonderful for anybody to realize you. Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it -- every, every minute?"

Family and friends will miss every, every minute that we spent with Traci.

A celebration of Traci's life will be held on June 22, from 4-6:30 p.m. at Manker Patten Tennis Center. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made the American Cancer Society or to your favorite charity.
