U.S. Army Veteran Held Long Career In Banking And Finance

Robert “Bob” Louis Hotchkiss, 78, of Chattanooga, formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on August 4, 2024.

Bob was born on May 30, 1946 in Newark, Oh., to the late Lee and Mildred Hotchkiss. He received a bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University in Business Administration. He went on to a long career in banking and finance that spanned over 40 years. He served his country in the Army National Guard. After he finished basic training he met the love of his life, Joanne.

Bob was an avid golfer and a voracious reader. He was active in many banking organizations, such as Independent Bankers of America, Ohio Chapter. He served in the Kiwanis Club and also served as a Big Brother. Bob served his community by serving on the local school board in Perrysburg, OH. He loved traveling, vacationing, and especially walking the beaches of Florida.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, especially to his surviving sister, Bonnie.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Mildred Hotchkiss, sisters, Beverly Fawcett and Beatrice Quickel.

Left behind to cherish Bob’s memory are his loving wife of 53 years, Joanne, his sons, Jonathan (Belinda) Hotchkiss and Justin (Kari) Hotchkiss, grandchildren, Colin; Owen; Alia; and Amelia Hotchkiss, sister, Bonnie Hotchkiss, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at St. Stephen Catholic Church on Friday, Aug. 9, at 1 p.m. with Father Mike Nolan officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 12 p.m.
