Ivan Jerome Choice, 56, passed away on August 30, 2024, in Chattanooga.

He was born on Aug. 19, 1968, in Chattanooga to Mr. Raymond Calvin Calhoun and Fannie Elaine Heard. Ivan was a graduate of Howard High School, Class of 1987. He was employed by Top Flight Paper Corporation as a machine operator.

Ivan was a great chess player. He was the life of the party and enjoyed spending time with his family, children, grandchildren and especially his wife. He loved football and was an avid Titans and Vols fan.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eddie (Erma) Choice, and Arthur (Bernice) Calhoun; grandson, Zyree Noble.

He leaves precious memories to his wife, Chantelle Hayes; his mother, Fannie Heard; father Raymond (Janice) Calhoun of Atlanta; five daughters, Keosha Choice, KreShuna Choice, Monique Choice. Keosha Noble, and Nyashe Hayes; a son, Aquiran Fallins; seven sisters, Wenona Calloway Tonya Star, Jocelyn Davenport, Sylvia Rucker, Melicha Calhoun, Willethia Wigfall and Rakia (Toney Williams); four brothers, Allen Heard, Sr., Calvin Tucker, Marlin Oattes, and Darius Oattes; devoted grandsons, Da'Shawn Choice “Dash”, JaiVian Benn “Jay”, Kyree, Xakhi, granddaughters, Skyler, Mulani, Ania, Aavaya, Camarian, and Caelynn; mother-in-law, Valeria Hayes; sisters-in-law, Raequiyah Hayes, Lisa Fitch, and Taisha Ware; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Public viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, at the funeral home.

An 11 a.m. funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga. 423 622-9995.

Interment will follow at Beautiful Greenwood Cemetery.
