Juliana Sutton
Juliana Sutton, 63, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, September 9, 2024.
She was a loved daughter and sister, a sensitive person, a lover of the arts and a great writer. She was presented as a debutant in the Cotton Ball in Chattanooga and later that year she was also presented as a debutant in New York City at The Plaza Hotel.
Juliana was an exceptionally intelligent person. She graduated from Girl’s Preparatory School and from there attended Wesleyan College in Macon, Ga. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee where she was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority. She moved to Atlanta for several years and from there decided to pursue her master's degree. She moved to New York City and attended Columbia University. After obtaining her master's degree in psychology she became a case manager in New York City for 20 years. She personally experienced 9/11 and the trauma of that event.
Several years later because of some health issues she moved back to Chattanooga. She grew in her faith and attended Precept Ministries.
Juliana was proceeded in death by her father, John H. Sutton, Jr.
She is survived by her mother, Gloria Sutton and her sister, Jan Sutton Smith Langley, brother-in-law, Mike Langley, nephew, Hudson E. Smith (Elijah and Trulee), niece, Meredith Smith Lloyd and husband Duck (Codie Mae and Presley), Joe and Shannon Langley, Aunt Gwen Vanlandingham, cousins, Angie Harris and Lewis Vanlandingham, Amy Halstead, Christy Chrisco, and Pam Caskie.
The visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 16, from 3–5 p.m. at Ashwood Square Retirement Community, 7683 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
