David Alan Zerr passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, in Chattanooga. He was born Jan. 6, 1974, in Rapid City, SD to Bruce and Susan (Hall) Zerr.
David grew up in Harriman, and graduated from Harriman High School in 1992. He was living in Oak Ridge, where he met the love of his life in 2003, and relocated to Chattanooga.
David enjoyed caving trips and rappelling with his dad, and family vacations to National Speleological Society conventions.
David valued education and fervently supported his wife, who is a public school teacher. He decided to go back to school in 2011 to Chattanooga State and graduated with an AS in process chemical technology. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2014 with a BS in engineering technology management. He completed his MBA in 2022. David worked at Wacker in Charleston for nine years.
David loved gaming and comics. He loved board games, video games, card games, and was an avid Warhammer player for 30+ years-even working his dream job at Games Workshop in Maryland for a brief time in his 20s. He was fond of saying “Da red ones go fasta.”
David is survived by his father, Bruce Zerr; mother, Susan Zerr; his loving wife of 19 years, Christina DeRieux Zerr; two daughters, Emma Susan Zerr and Georgia Laura Zerr; two sisters, Sandra Dyanne Golden (Robbi) and Kristine Denise Henry (Kyran); six nieces, Audrey, Paige, Fiona, Gwendolyn, Emilia and Kaitlyn; and one nephew, Bryce.
