David grew up in Harriman, and graduated from Harriman High School in 1992. He was living in Oak Ridge, where he met the love of his life in 2003, and relocated to Chattanooga.

David enjoyed caving trips and rappelling with his dad, and family vacations to National Speleological Society conventions.

David valued education and fervently supported his wife, who is a public school teacher. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2014 with a BS in engineering technology management. He completed his MBA in 2022. David worked at Wacker in Charleston for nine years.
