Nancy Jo Sherrill Crane
Nancy Jo Sherrill Crane, 86, went to be with her Lord and savior on Friday, January 17, 2025.
She was born in Red Bank, and spent all her life in the Hixson/Red Bank area. Daughter to the late Frank and Martha Sherrill, she married the love of her life, Jim Crane, on Oct. 16, 1953, and together they shared 71 years of marriage.
Nancy had a love for the grocery industry. She worked in various areas of the grocery business for many years and retired from McNeil Johnson and Johnson Corporation, as their retail sales representative for Tylenol in the Chattanooga and surrounding areas. She was a lifelong member of The Ministry Center formally North Chattanooga Church of God.
One of Nancy's greatest gifts was her incredible devotion as a wife, mother and grandmother. She poured her heart and soul into loving and nurturing them with unconditional love, support and guidance through every phase of life. Her impact on their lives was immeasurable. She brought light into every room she entered and touched the lives of everyone she met with warmth, compassion, and unwavering grace.
She was preceded in death by her son, James "Eddie" Crane.
Loved by all, Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, James "Jim" Crane; daughters, Darline (Tim) McGinnis and Angie (Brian) Lowery; grandchildren, T. C. (Rosie) Tolbert, Julie (Brad) Nelson, Austin (Abigail) Moore and Ryan Moore and she had one great grandson, James Moore.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Nancy's life will follow at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the North Chapel with Reverend Greg Baird officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Ministry Center, 2929 Hamill Road, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
