Betty Jeanne Little Couch passed to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 5, 2025, after celebrating her 100th birthday on December 12, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Couch, and a daughter, Sherry Annette Hall.

Ms. Couch leaves behind a daughter, Linda Jeanne Conrad (James), seven grandchildren, Jeanne Albertson (Toby), Melissa Andersen (Grant), Elisabeth Chiang (Johnny), Rosannah Slone (Robert), Joshua Hall, Sarah Talley (John), Matthew Hall and eleven great grandchildren.

Ms. Couch’s life reflects one of service. She taught a ladies Bible School class during her membership at Hixson Baptist Church. She loved homemaking and participated in a Homemakers Club while living in northern Kentucky. She is a member of the Chickamauga Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed serving as Chapter Regent and Registrar. She had a passion for genealogical research and enjoyed membership in several local historical societies. In addition, she enjoyed playing the piano, reading, and needlework.

The family thanks the staff of the Regency House for their excellent care of Ms. Couch during her five years living there. They are also thankful to Genitive Hospice for their care to her during the past few months.

Any gifts in honor of her life may be given to the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution for the restoration of Memorial Hall, Dr. David Jeremiah, Moody Bible Church in Chicago, or the local McKamey Animal Clinic.

The celebration of Ms. Couch’s life will be on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. followed by the service. Burial will be in the National Cemetery.
