Carl Denton Scroggins, Jr., 64 of East Ridge, Tennessee, left this earth way too soon on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at a local hospital.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Alice Scroggins; daughter, Cindy Moody; grandson Logan Denton Moody; two sisters, Karen (Jimmy) Dean of Chattanooga and Cathy Harwood of East Ridge; several nieces and nephews and numerous close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl, Sr. and Eulalia Scroggins.

Carl was employed by various auto parts stores and was last employed by The Parts House for more than 40 years. He greatly loved working on cars and spending time with his grandson – his pride and joy.

Carl was a beloved husband, dad, brother and papaw that will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with the Rev. Marty Green officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Virgil Kimbrough, Derek Billingsley, Bryan Contorno, Chip Griffin, Bobby Wilkes and Patrick Taylor.
