Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy announces that it has officially earned Cognia Accreditation, a globally recognized mark of educational excellence.
"This honor, granted by the Cognia Global Commission, affirms CGLA’s commitment to academic achievement, continuous improvement, and student-centered learning," officials said.
This designation was officially granted on March 31 by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, the Northwest Accreditation Commission and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.
“Receiving Cognia Accreditation is a milestone that reflects the heart of who we are at CGLA,” said Principal Sylvia Davis, who led the accreditation effort.
“It signals to our students, families and the Chattanooga community that we are committed to creating an environment of excellence. This process challenged us to push further in how we support each girl’s full potential, and we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together.”
Accreditation involves both an internal review and an external evaluation to assess whether schools meet Cognia Performance Standards and are actively pursuing ongoing development.
“Cognia Accreditation is a rigorous process that focuses the entire school and its community on the primary goal of ensuring all students can flourish in engaging and equitable learning environments,” said Dr. Mark A. Elgart, president and CEO of Cognia. “We commend Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy for meeting high standards and making progress on key indicators that impact student learning.”
