Scott Riseman
WGOW Radio Program Director Bill Lockhart on Monday afternoon announced that Jay "Jammer" Scott is no longer employed by Citadel of Chattanooga after he picked up still another DUI arrest.
At the same time, prosecutors said they will seek to revoke his probation.
A hearing is set Thursday morning before Criminal Court Judge Doug Meyer for Scott Riseman (his real name).
Riseman was on probation from previous DUI arrests when he was stopped Friday night on Mountain Creek Road after running into a car that was stopped at a stop sign.
Program Director Lockhart said, “We are saddened by Jammer’s arrest. We hope that Jay will get further treatment and counseling for his illness. We wish him a full recovery.
“WGOW now faces a tremendous opportunity to discover the next great Talk Host on Talk Radio 102.3. Effective immediately, WGOW Radio is beginning a National, Regional, and Local search for the 1:00-4:00 p.m. slot.”
He said the ideal candidate "is articulate, intelligent, passionate, and an incredible communicator. Previous media experience is desirable but not necessary."
For the interim, Chattanooga TV and radio personality Chip Chapman will act as primary fill-in host for the 1:00-3:00 p.m. slot. Former Fox 61 Sports Anchor Heather Williams has agreed in principle to host the 3:00-4:00 p.m. slot.
Mr. Lockhart said, “This is a difficult time for all of us at WGOW but out of adversity comes opportunity. We are confident we will hire the absolute best person for the Talk opening."
