Mark Kleiner Moves From City To County As Grants Planner

Mark Kleiner has been hired as grants planner for the Hamilton County Development Department, according to an announcement by Dan Saieed, director of Development for Hamilton County.

Mr. Kleiner will be responsible for economic and community development assistance to communities and industries throughout Hamilton County. He will provide strategic planning services to Hamilton County departments and will contribute to the County's Emergency Management Response Plan.

Mr. Kleiner will also be coordinating the County 3 Star certification process and developing grant applications for the County’s Parks and Recreation Department.

Prior to joining the county, Mr. Kleiner worked in the city of Chattanooga Neighborhood Services Department where he was responsible for new program development, department media relations, and the coordination of conference and regional training events.

Mr. Kleiner holds a master of public administration (MPA) and a B.A. in communication from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is trilingual, speaking Portuguese, Spanish, and English fluently.

“We are excited to have Mark as a new member of our team. His abilities and experience will be a tremendous asset to our department,” Mr. Saieed said.

"I am excited about working in local government, and look forward to bringing my community knowledge to Hamilton County government,” Mr. Kleiner said.

Mr. Kleiner and his wife, Heather, reside in Chattanooga.
