Boy, 6, Dies At Children's Hospital After Cedartown Wreck In Which Driver Fled The Scene

A six-year-old boy has died at Children's Hospital in Chattanooga after his mother's boyfriend wrecked near Cedartown, Ga.

The Georgia State Patrol said Robert Nelson Wood, 42, of Tallapoosa, Ga., pulled the boy and another child out of the car, then fled the scene. The other child also had severe injuries.

Trent Brooks, 6, and Gabriel Brooks, 5, both from Tallapoosa, Ga., were taken to Floyd Medical Center. They later were airlifted to Chattanooga.
