Effort To Recall City Councilman Chris Anderson Flounders

  • Wednesday, March 19, 2014

A citizen effort to recall District 7 City Councilman Chris Anderson is floundering, election officials said.

Kerry Steelman, election administrator, said just 146 valid signatures have been submitted thus far.

The group, led by Charles Wysong, needs to come up with 1,600 signatures of District 7 residents to force a recall vote.

The deadline is April 9.

Election officials said there were several pages of signatures all in the same handwriting.

A Circuit Court lawsuit filed by Councilman Anderson to seek to block the recall is still pending before Judge Jeff Hollingsworth.
