Longtime Dentist In Chattanooga Was Army Veteran

Dr. David Mark Monen, 73, of East Brainerd, died on April 11, 2017, at his home.

A longtime resident of Chattanooga, Dr. Monen began his dental practice at the age of 27 and continued until his retirement in 2007.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a dentist during Vietnam. Dr. Monen was a member of the Mizpah Congregation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Priscilla Monen.

Survivors are his wife, Judy Brody Monen; sons, Dr. Scott (Ellen) Monen, Atlanta, and Michael (Taylor) Monen, Chattanooga; four grandchildren, Lily, Simon, Joseph and Della Monen; and brother, Jeff (Cherie) Monen, Chattanooga.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 13, at 1 p.m. at Mizpah Cemetery with Rabbi Teri Appleby officiating.
