Driver Of White Jeep Commander Dies In I-75 Crash In Whitfield County

One person was killed in Whitfield County on I-75 on Sunday afternoon.

Authorities said a wrecker was picking up a disabled green Nissan Xterra in the right emergency lane northbound.

A white Jeep Commander that was also going north struck the Xterra and then hit the tow truck in the incident about 2:45 p.m.

The Jeep rolled several times as it went down an embankment.

The driver was dead at the scene.

Freeway lanes near the wreck were closed down for several hours.
