We’re heartbroken to share that Pamela Sherrill Rowan, beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on June 13, 2025 at the age of 73, just 17 days after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Born on Nov. 1, 1951, Pam was a lifelong resident of Red Bank and Hixson. A graduate of Red Bank High School (class of 1969) and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (class of 1973), she was a retired teacher and librarian of Hamilton County Schools whose love for books was matched only by her deep faith.

A devoted Christian, she lived her life with kindness, helpfulness, and a quiet strength.

More than anything, she was a wonderful mother, a caring sister and aunt, and a friend who always had time to listen and love. She gave so much of herself to everyone around her.

We will miss her deeply, but we’re comforted knowing that she is now with the Lord.

Pam was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Rowan, father and mother, Harry and Josephine Sherrill, sister, Mary Ann Wells, brother and sister-in-law, Marion and Doris Sherrill, and brother-in-law, John Gilbert.

She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Mowery (fiancé Anthony Acosta), step-daughter Katie Fahm (Sky), sister Pat Gilbert, special nieces and nephews Kim Adams, Jennifer Sherrill, Tim Gilbert (Terri), and Wes Gilbert (Dana), brother-in-law Wade Rowan (Sherry), sister-in-law, Paige Currie, and several other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., followed by a memorial service on Saturday, June 21, at Red Bank Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Hospice Care Center, 937 Blackford Street, Chattanooga, Tn. 37403 or to the Community Kitchen, 727 E. 11th Street, Chattanooga, Tn. 37403.

Arrangements are entrusted to Covenant Funeral & Crematory, Crox family owned and operated, www.CovenantFuneral.com.
