Joy Anne Chambers Kincer, 91, Chattanooga native, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Joy was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Paul C. and her parents, Henry Chambers and Dorothy Rogers Roberts.

Joy is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Weaver, of Marietta, Ga., her son, Roger (Paige) Kincer, of Chattanooga, grandchildren, Philip (Tori) of Chattanooga, and Paul M. of Sweetwater, great-grandchildren, June and Brody, of Chattanooga, and a host of in-laws, nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Joy was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church (formerly Avondale Baptist). She graduated from Chattanooga City High School in 1951.

Joy made a warm and loving home for her family. Children held a special place in her heart. She enjoyed teaching kindergarten at both Brainerd Baptist Church and Brainerd United Methodist Church. She also worked for Chambliss Children Center providing support for house parents. Joy was an avid baseball fan. As a teen she regularly attended the Lookouts games at Engel Stadium and as an adult supported the Braves, from Ted Turner to Brian Snitker managing.

She was privileged to have the devoted and loving care team of Baiya Mack and Brian O’Neil. They will always hold a special place in our family.

Joy will be sorely missed by family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Anglican Church of the Redeemer, 104 McBrien Road, Chattanooga, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

The family will receive friends at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
