Retired From Hardees, And Loved To Volunteer As A Pink Lady At Hutcheson

Barbara Ann Brown, 88, Rossville, went to be with her Lord, Monday, September 30, 2019 at a local health care facility.  

She was born April 10, 1931, in Chattanooga to the late Wiley and Mattie Woods.  Barbara lived most of her life in the Fairview Community of Rossville and was a devoted mother raising her six children. She was a member of Community Baptist Church in Rock Spring and worked for Hardees on 23rd Street in Chattanooga for 11 years as the biscuit maker and morning manager retiring in 2003. Barbara loved her family, baking, and cooking.  She also enjoyed volunteering her time at Hutcheson Hospital as a Pink Lady and had served as den mother for Den 7 of the Cub Scouts.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her brother, Wiley Woods, Jr.

Survivors include her children, Fred (Carolyn) Brown, Patti (Burl) Mizell, Richard (Cathy) Brown, Wiley Skip (Denise) Brown, Mark (Kim) Brown, and Roger Brown; brother, William Woods; sister, Pat (John) Dobbins; sister-in-law, Jo Woods; thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Parkside Rehabilitation and Nursing Home and North Georgia Hospice of Chattanooga for their love and care during this time.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 1:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Wilton Grimes officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Anderson Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
