Johnnie Ruth Goddard, age 89, of the Pleasant Grove Community, Dalton, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Mezza Mae Walker; son, Jimmy Ray Goddard; sisters, Marie Pearson and Ophelia Gowin; and brothers, Alvin and Kenneth Walker.
Mrs. Goddard was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, J. R. Goddard of the residence; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Xhemile Goddard of Cumming, Ga. and Tommy and Anita Goddard of Dalton; grandchildren, Taylor and Mark Kelly, Christian Goddard, Andi Goddard and Andi Cahill; two great-grandchildren, Scotlyn and Slater Kelly; nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 6, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Walker officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the service time at 2 pm.
The family respectfully asked in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to Grove Level Baptist Church 2802 Cleveland Hwy. Dalton, GA 30721 or to the Gideon’s International.
