Cecil Raymond Jones
Cecil Raymond Jones, 87, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on June 26, 2019, after a long period of decline.
Originally from Sand Mountain, he was a long-time resident of Flintstone, Georgia. He was most well-known for his steadfast love of his family. A successful businessman, he founded Jones Corporation in Chattanooga in the 1970s with one service station and grew it to over six stations and an automobile parts distributorship with over 100 total employees by the 1990s. He continued working in the gasoline distribution business until he was 80 years old.
A faithful Christian, he was a long-time member of several Pentecostal congregations including Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God, where he served as a deacon, and Lee Highway Church of God. He dedicated his free time to tending his 66-acre farm on his tractor and back hoe.
He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife of 40 years, Betty Jo Jones of Flintstone; his parents, Carl and Hettie Jones of Chattanooga, and his siblings, Inez Camp, Carl Jones Jr., and Eula Lee Burdzel.
He is survived by his dear wife of 25 years, Sherry Jones of Chattanooga; son, Ernest Dale Jones of Flintstone, and daughter, son-in-law and grandson, Karla, Jack and J. Andrew Mullinax; his special niece, Gwenda Jones and her husband, John Bredstrand; step-children, Allan and his wife, Patti Little; David Little, and Lori Jones; grandchildren, Jeremy Little and his wife Brandy, and granddaughter, Nicole Little; and great-grandchildren, Chase Roberts and Ryman Little; and several nieces and nephews.
