Police Blotter: Chained Down Geranium Missing From Baker Street; McDonald's On Lookout For Drink Thief

A resident of Baker Street in North Chattanooga said his geranium and fern stand was stolen despite being chained down. He said someone must have walked up onto his carport, broke the chain off of his white fern stand housing a geranium flower and stole it. He estimated the value of the item at $100. At this time there is no suspect information.

A man said he went to Kanku's at 7900 Shallowford Road and got gas. He laid his wallet on the back of his vehicle and forgot about it after he completed getting fuel and drove off. Once he realized it he went back to recover it, but it was gone.

A manager at Academy Sports at Hamilton Place said two black females and one black male shoplifted from the store. She was on her break and was sitting in her car when she saw the black females pull a bunch of shirts and a pair of tennis shoes out of a purse. She thinks the black male may have had on clothing items underneath his clothes because he was moving around weird like he was trying to situate his clothes. All three suspects got into a black Honda CRV, registered to an address out of Cleveland, Tn. Police were able to look at video footage of the suspects leaving the store. The black male was wearing a pink shirt with navy shorts. He had long hair with dreadlocks in a pony tail. One female had on a yellow shirt with blue skinny jeans and tan flip flops. She also had black hair and was carrying a black purse. The third suspect had black hair pulled back with a white hat on, floral maroon shirt and maroon pants with white flip flops on. Police were not able to see in the video footage any of the items that were stolen. Police were only able to see the suspects leaving the store.

At the Academy Sports on Highway 153, an employee said he had been watching three females who were suspiciously shopping around the store. He said they had multiple buggies which were full of miscellaneous clothing items. He said one of the females noticed he was watching and ran outside and pulled a car up to the side of the store. The other two females then exited the store out of the fire escape door on the side of the building. They dropped the items in the parking lot and got in the vehicle and left. The suspects took off headed north on Highway 153 in a red Chevrolet Cruz.

A man traveling westbound on I-24 said while he was passing under the Spring Creek Road bridge a piece of the bridge broke off. It landed on his vehicle breaking his windshield.

At Robin Glen Drive, a man said he discovered when he went out about 7 a.m. that his white 1999 Ford F-250 had been stolen. He said he usually leaves the keys in the vehicle and the doors were unlocked, while parked in the driveway. The vehicle has paint peeling off the left side with tool boxes in the bed.

An employee of Kay Jeweler's said he worked all day and some time during the day lost his 14-carat gold bracelet. He described the bracelet as a yellow gold Cuban link chain bracelet with a hidden clasp and two figure eight clasps valued at $3,500.

The manager at McDonalds on Lee Highway said a white female walked into the restaurant around 8:10 a.m. holding a small McDonald's cup and proceeded over to the fountain drinks to refill the cup. She said the woman did not pay for the drink and walked passed all points of sale. She said a small beverage at McDonald's costs $1.39. The drink thief left the scene in a white Chevy Impala. The manger said the same female walked into the McDonald's last Wednesday during lunch time and committed the same theft. The manager said she wants the woman banned from the McDonald's.
