Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse For Many Years At Children's Hospital At Erlanger

Allene C. King, of Chattanooga, passed away on September 10, 2019, four days after her 93rd birthday.

 

She was born in Cleveland, TN and was retired from Children’s Hospital at Erlanger where she worked as a registered nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for 23 years.  She was a graduate of the Fort Sanders Nursing School in Knoxville.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Dollie McSpadden and siblings, Harry McSpadden, Inez Buckman and William Howard McSpadden.

 

She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Ray) McCrary of Nashville, and Wendy King of Chattanooga, along with several nieces and nephews including Peg Hays of Collegedale and Sally Buckman of Rossville.

 

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Chattanooga and her caregivers Peggy Fowler and Mildred Brooks for their service. 

 

There will be a private celebration of Allene’s life later this year.
