Rubye Weaver Turner-Young
Rubye Weaver Turner-Young, age 84, of Roswell, Georgia and formerly of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020.
She was born on Sept. 22, 1936 in Lynch, Ky. to the late Mark Weaver, Sr. and Lila Mae Bailey Weaver. She was preceded by her siblings, Mark Weaver, Jr. (J.W.), Mae Jewel Weaver Johnson; son, Alvin Dexter Briddell; and grandson, Maurice Briddell.
She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in LaFayette, Ga. and from Pleasant Rock Baptist Church in Baltimore, Md. She retired from the city of Baltimore, Maryland Recreation and Parks Department after 30 years.
Survivors are her loving and devoted husband, Cornell Reginald Young of Roswell, Georgia and formerly of Baltimore, Maryland; son, Mark Turner (Wanda) Briddell of Baltimore, Maryland; daughter, Lila Racyne (Donnell) Bailey of Roswell, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Mark, Antonio, Asia, Brianna, Jasmine, James, Laprea, Luquwon, Shamoia; eight great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Simone, Kyra, Danira, Romello, Azaria, Kasim, Jayda; one great-great-grandchild, O. C.; nephew, Donald Brown; niece, Peggy Royster; loving caregiver, Theresa Cohen; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and dear friends.
Graveside service and interment will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17, at noon at the Naomi Cemetery, LaFayette, Georgia with Pastor Rheubin M. Taylor and other ministers officiating.
Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 16, after 11 a.m.
