Nevia Rouse, 93, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020, in a local health care facility.  

She was born April 14, 1927, in Athens, Ga. Nevia was a faithful member of Second Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from Memorial Hospital in 1997 after 35 years of service as a supervisor in housekeeping. 

Nevia was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Rouse; parents; and sister, Lois Johnson. 

Survivors include her stepdaughter, Carolyn R. Patrick; niece, Sharon Barnes of Athens, Ga.; caregiver and friend, Marie Bailey; assistant caregiver, Doretha Carter; dear friend, Dorothy Jones; extended family and friends, Second Missionary Baptist Church and Assisted Living at Standifer Place. 

She will lie in state on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

Family services will follow at noon in the chapel with Pastor Ernest Reid as the eulogist. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
