Johnny L. Padgett, 88, of Red Bank, died on June 24, 2020. 

In his younger years, Johnny was nicknamed “Pete” by the local stock/dirt car racers and fans. Pete was a member of Joe Lee Johnson pit crew when Joe Lee won the first ever Charlotte 600 mile race.  Johnny made a career by helping start a successful business at Padgett’s Red Bank Body Shop with his son, Rick.  He will truly be missed by his family, friends and all the employees at Red Bank Body Shop. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Padgett. 

He leaves behind his children, Johnny (Carol) Padgett, Rick (Donna) Padgett and Lori Padgett.  He has several grand and great-grandhildren. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a local animal shelter in his honor.
