Christine Austin, age 65, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021.

She was born on July 19, 1955 to Melvia Willis Austin Heard and the late Floyd L. Austin, Sr. She was also preceded by her sister, Karen Willis Richardson.

Christine was a Dalton High School graduate of 1973.

Survivors are her one loving son, Christopher Austin; mother, Melvia Willis Austin Heard; two sisters, Kathy Boston of Dalton, Georgia, and April Madden of Chattanooga, Tennessee; brothers, Lamar (Angela), Greg, and Daniel Austin of Dalton, and Gordon Austin of Chattanooga; aunts, Betty (Marvin) Jackson of LaFayette, Georgia, Eleanor Jackson; uncles, Theo (Evelyn) Willis, Jerry (Shirley) Willis, Terry Willis, of Dalton; brother-in-law, Heren Richardson, Sr. of East Point, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the Chapel at 1 p.m. with words of comfort by Evangelist Mary L. Suttles and Dr. Jerry Jones.

Her remains will lie in state on Monday, Jan. 25, after 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday.

Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Ga.
