Barbara Sue Dean
Barbara Sue Dean, 78, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 10, 2021.
Barbara had a big heart and always lived life to the fullest. She loved her family fiercely and believed that acting silly and laughing was the best medicine in life. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was the daughter of the late Jack and Helen Lewis, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Danny Dean; two sons, Lebron and Dewayne Shirley.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Houser; Lori (Howard) Snyder; five grandchildren, Ryan (Beth) Dupree, Jennifer (Jeremy) Owens, David, Melissa (Dennis) and Matthew Shirley; eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and fur baby Sissy; siblings, Bettye (Bud) Lowe, Ronnie (Sybil) Lewis, and Brenda (Lane) Jones.
She was an advocate for animal rescue. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to fureverfurkids.com
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19, in the East Chapel with Ryan Dupree officiating.
Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 404 S. Moore Road.
