Mary Ann Morgan,  of Hixson, went home to be with Jesus Christ on Monday, July 19, 2021.

Mary Ann’s love for her family and her kindheartedness towards others will be her legacy.  The strength and love our mother provided her husband and four boys was endless.  Her faith in Jesus Christ throughout her life’s journey was her unbroken theme and became the essence of her grace.  Our mother served alongside our father for 20-plus years in the U.S. Navy.  The strength she provided our father and her four boys during this time was deserving of a medal.  There are countless stories of her sacrifices – raising four boys (navy brats) could make the best of moms surrender (smiling).  Her love for people was reflected in her work history – serving others in various capacities during their greatest needs.  “Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.  Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praise.  Give her of the fruits of her hand, and let her own works praise her in the gates.”  Our mother’s light touched so many people – her smile is eternal and will remain within our hearts.  Mary Ann was a member of Cross of Calvary and attended Grace Pointe Assembly of God for many years.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Morgan, Jr.  These two were married young but faithfully loved, dreamed and conquered life together having four surviving sons, Thomas Wesley Morgan, III (Oy), Steven Everett Morgan (Elina), Kenneth Farrell Morgan, Sr. (Jennifer), and Gregory Scott Morgan – who will miss their dedicated mother.  There are 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, July 23, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Mary Ann’s life will follow at 4 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Minister Kenneth Morgan officiating.
