Rickey Lee Melhorn, 63, of Kensington, passed peacefully on the morning of September 15, 2021. A hard-working man who thoughtfully cared for horses, cattle and more on their family farm. His careful eye for detail and monumental work ethic made him recognized as one of the top auto body repair and restoration experts in the country. In his later days, he reduced his client list to be exclusive to focus on time with his family. His commitment to helping others was second to none, as he could be asked for anything, and the word "no" was simply not a word he would say. He leaves behind a vast community of those who were fortunate to call him a neighbor, a friend or family. Rickey was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila; son, Josh Melhorn and granddaughter; daughter, Lyndse Martinelli (Daniel) and granddaughter and grandson; two sisters, Cathy and Vicki; step-daughter, Amber; and three step-grandsons; dad, Arthur Roger Melhorn; mother, Barbara Joyce (Burnette) Mauer; and step-dad, Arthur Eugene Mauer.
Graveside services for family only will be held Friday, Sept. 24 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, with full military honors.
