Catherine Bailey, 86, passed away on December 31, 2021, in Chattanooga.

 

She was born on Oct. 25, 1935, to Robert Johnson, and Reba Mangham Johnson, in Five Points, Al. Catherine attended and graduated high school in Alabama. She was formerly employed by the Brass Register, and American Thrift. She had been owner and operator of Bailey’s Daycare. Catherine loved cooking and enjoyed her flowers and gardening. She attended Mighty Warriors Church.

 

Catherine was preceded in death by Harold Bennett and James Bailey; two sons, Dexter Bennett, and Norman Johnson.

 

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, five daughters, Kathy Sutton, Stacey (Glenn) Collins, Jennifer Bennett, Cicely Bennett, and Kimberly (Darrel) Putman; two sons, Steve (Shirley) Bennett and Mark Bennett; three sisters, Margie Kyles, Christine Mackey, and Willy Jo Frasier; one brother, Major Johnson; twenty-four grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Public viewing will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 14, followed immediately by the funeral service in the chapel.

 

Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
